Russian government will penalize visitors of online casinos

Tatarstan State Council deputies drafted a bill, which proposes to introduce fines of up to 20 thousand rubles for the players participating in the online casino.

It is noted that currently under Russian law, the responsibility rests only on the organizers of illegal gambling. MPs want to establish individuals’ responsibility for their participation in online casinos and using information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet, as well as mobile communications. Fines proposed to introduce, starting from January 1, 2017. The relevant bill has already been introduced in the State Duma.

The amendments involve changes to the Administrative Code and the Federal Law № 244-FZ “On state regulation of activities of the organization and conduct of gambling and amending some legislative acts” and № 99-FZ “On licensing certain types of activities.”

It turns out that during the game, for example, in an online casino the user will be required to pay a fine of 10 to 20 thousand rubles same fine you’ll need to pay if you use any of the casino games on your smartphone.

The authors of this idea explain that visitors of online casinos participating in the games on their own initiative and are aware of the illegality of such activities.
