It can’t be easy though and so, for those mortals struggling like the rest of us, here’s a tip: try spending a purposeful evening with family. Make sure that its quality time you’re spending with them too. During lockdown, there are limited ways to do that. A simple way to achieve it however, is by watching movies together. Nothing brings people together like some good old cinema. Here is a list of movies perfect for a family movie night. Hope you enjoy!
The Parent Trap
This movie offers double the fun and no matter how old it gets, it’s always enjoyable to watch which means it’s not just the kids that’ll have a blast, you too will have a good time.
Starring Lindsay Lohan, who plays the roles of twin sisters Annie and Hallie Mills, this is a well-executed movie that reels you in with characters you can’t stop loving, or for that matter, hate! The two meet for the first time at a camp only to learn that they are sisters. Their father, an American winery owner, and mother, a British wedding gown designer, divorced soon after their birth. Not happy with this arrangement, they take it upon themselves to reunite the pair and swap identities. And boy, do you want to know what happens next. So go ahead, and start the movie.
Harry Potter
Well, we can’t just have one movie from the series now can we? If you’re going to watch it, start from the Sorcerer’s Stone and make your way to the Deathly Hallows. You might want to wait for the weekend for this one though.
JK Rowling’s masterpiece is a great read and a watch for people of all ages. Who doesn’t love magic? And, secret wizard school, enchanted forest and magical creatures all in one is bound to get your heart racing. Don’t let the glitz blind you though. This is an amazing story of friendship so make sure to have a healthy discussion over it. It’ll help the family learn and grow for sure!
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
The Harry Potter series can never be enough for a fan, and luckily it doesn’t have to be. With Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them the fun doesn’t have to end. That’s a few more hours of living in the Rowling universe and each second of it is fun. While you’re at it, watch the second part in the series too. It’s not just a good movie on animals, but rather magical animals! And, who doesn’t love the furry, cuddly creatures? Your children will love them and so will you, we guarantee.
Star Wars
The good guys fighting bad guys in space with fancy swords and technology, you can’t go wrong with that! If you’ve grown up with the saga, why not introduce your young ones to the fun. It’s a great bonding opportunity. You get to watch your favorite movies and see your children’s eyes light up the way yours did when you first set off on your adventure with Luke Skywalker.
Howl’s Moving Castle
This list wouldn’t be complete without some animated hits. Since we’re sure watching Frozen on repeat has gotten on your nerves, we’re here to suggest alternatives that not only your children will enjoy, but you too will have a great experience watching.
This is the time to get acquainted with anime and a good place to start would be Howl’s Moving Castle. There’s magic and a great story, but the best part is the scenery. Each image has the ability to invoke strong emotion. It’s truly an immersive experience, one you should try today! After you’re done, you might want to check out some of other Studio Ghibli’s productions.
Final Words
We were going to include Home Alone on the list, but during this pandemic we’d suggest you stay clear of it. You don’t want to give them any ideas now, do you? As it is, every day is a struggle. Luckily the TV offers some relief. Spectrum Silver channel list is especially great for this. It include premium channels like HBO and Cinemax which means you’ll have access to great content during lockdown. Till this crisis is brought under control, stay strong and be patient with your loved ones. That said, may the force be with you, you sure do need it!
