Smoke Signal is the 38th episode of the Japanese manga series “Attack on Titan”:
Smoke Signal is an episode of the cartoon TV series “Attack on Titan”. “Attack on Titan” is a popular Japanese manga series which is set in a mysterious fantasy world where individuals are forced to live in territories which are enclosed by giant walls. Which have been built to protect mankind from being wiped out by the massive, intimidating Titans who roam the world and who have been known to eat human flesh.
Eren Jaegar is the hero of “Attack on Titan” and the main protagonist of Smoke Signal:
In smoke signal, Eren Jaegar who is the series primary protagonist is commanded to perform a few tests in his titan form. As the Scouts, who Eren is a part of, wish to use Eren to seal the Wall Maria. However, Eren fails to pass a test which requires him to successfully harden his Titan form. Worse yet much of his body hangs out of the back of his titan, which leaves Eren vulnerable to attacks. Luckily Mikasa manages to use her horse to ride to Eren and manages to free him by cutting him loose from his titan form. However, due to Eren’s failure, the Scouts are forced to come up with a plan b in order to seal the Wall Maria.
The government decides to oppose the Scout Regiment and demands custody of Eren and Historia.
Things get worse for Eren, Mikasa and their friends when the ruling government make a decision to oppose the Scout Regiment. Worse yet the government orders the Scout Regiment to hand over Eren as well as Historia. Luckily Levi comes up with a smart plan to trick the government into abducting Jean and Armin, instead of Mikasa and Erin. Levi also comes up with a cunning plan to capture the abductors who he believed would try and abduct Eren and Mikasa. As part of Levi’s dangerous plan, Mikasa subdues the governments lackeys, to stop them from abducting the Scout’s decoys Jean and Armin who are posing as Eren and Mikasa.
While at first Levi’s plan seems like a success, before the Scout Regiment has a chance to celebrate, Levi is shockingly ambushed by a mysterious individual who seems to have a grudge against Levi. Who proves to be a blast from Levi’s past.
Levi’s nemesis turns out to be his nemesis Kenny the Ripper:
Levi’s mysterious nemesis turns out to be none other than Kenny the Ripper, who happened to grow up with Levi. Worse yet, Kenny the Ripper is a mass murderer, who has taken on a legendary status due to the number of individuals who he has slaughtered.
Kenny the Ripper kills Abel:
During Levi’s confrontation with Kenny the Ripper and his thugs, Kenny the Ripper manages to slay Abel, who is a member of Levi and Eren’s Scout Regiment.
