At the party Candy convinces all of Lucifer’s friends and family, including his one true love Chloe, that she’s an airhead. However, Candy simply put on a realistic act, in order to fool all of Lucifer’s friends and family members. In order to try and trick the Goddess into revealing the information which Lucifer was seeking to find out from his mother. However as Chloe was out of the loop, she didn’t take the news of Lucifer and Candy’s engagement well.

In a later episode which takes place a year after “Candy Morningstar” it is revealed that Candy and Lucifer are currently in the process of having their fake marriage annulled. However many viewers assumed that Lucifer and Candy may have feelings for each other as they had yet to annul their wedding after a year of separation. Although following the events of the episode “Candy Morningstar”, Candy did change her name back to her maiden name Candy Fletcher.
